Prawning
Iman and Zu suddenly asked me out for prawning. Fishing, for prawns.
With little to no knowledge of catching—even normal fish, and being the good friend that I am (again), I said “jom” right away. I thought that while waiting for the prawns, we could have some time to reflect together. Or maybe just hearing Zu and Iman's kacip talk.

RM45 per hour? I decided to let them do the fishing while I observed. I will be by your side supporting you guys. Go iman go zu!
They mount the small-cut worm baits at the hook, throw the line in. When you see the float jiggling and being pulled in, thats when you know someone is muching the bait! Then you slowly and firmly pull your braid (or rod) up and there you go, you baited a prawn! Well that was at least how I saw them did.
As they were catching prawns by prawns, I thought "This must be easy", doubting their skills, "Let me try it", Zu gave her braid to me to try. It was 10 minutes in until I caught my own prawn! I think I was jigging it too deep, no prawns were in the seabed(?). Then I caught my second prawn a few minutes after. Well that was fun. But I honestly won't repeat. The waiting game was too long for me.
The long-awaited reflection time lasted only ten minutes. The other fifty minutes were spent screaming every time they baited one, and time spent posing with the prawns.

| R.I.P Prawns |
We were so excited.
Iman caught a total of seven prawns, Zu caught four prawns, and I added two to their collection. I was genuinely impressed. I thought they can catch at most five in total. I didn’t know fishing was this quote unquote easy. To be fair, it was only the three of us there at the time, so there wasn’t much competition.
The sun was down when we were done. We then played pickleball.
It wasn’t the reflection I imagined, but it was still time spent laughing, fully present, and oddly enough, that felt like its own kind of reflection.
Also, I learned two things: A, prawning is not my forte B, it is so much cheaper buying prawns from the store than catching it.
