Jeju welcomed us roughly
the only thing in the itinerary was our flight to jeju, dinner, and rest.
looks simple……..

We left our bags in a storage in Seoul cuz……we cant go to jeju with 60kg on our back
except that the flight to jeju was delayed for 2 hours. First, it was delayed before our boarding time, then when we were finally in the cabin, we had to wait uncertainly not knowing whether we can take off or not for 1 more hour. The flight attendant said we’re waiting for the weather to calm down since its snowing hard at Jeju airport at that time.
“Where are we gonna stay if we can’t go to Jeju? will the airline provide us hotel? are we gonna sleep at the airport?” we worried. and we were hungry and we only have a piece of bread on hand. worry + hungry = wongry
I almost had a claustrophobic panic attack before we finally took off.

little did we know we have to wait an hour in this small space

mama’s attempt to take a picture of me. the result; ummmm……..1/5
The flight was rough, it was pitch black when we had air pockets.
(Air pocket: The disruption in the air current which helps a plane to fly results in shakes and it is referred to as turbulence. Also known as air pockets, turbulence can cause a sudden loss of altitude temporarily)
I swear it was the same feeling as riding roller coasters. People were screaming! cause its literally seconds of free fall. my heart literally dropped.
anyway Alhamdulillah we landed Jeju intl airport safely. The snow over the window looked indeed strong and rapid. I got it why they had to delay.
the flight attendants were beautiful and professional during the delay ngl. Koreans are beautiful. i will not deny it.
“That flight attendant could easily pass to be in kdrama” mama said. I agreed. All of them. ugh, my self esteem was rolling down the hill i just wore my masks to cover my flaws up. AND to protect myself from the cold.
so we were supposed to arrive Jeju at 4, but ended up arriving at 7. We took the rental car. Good job we went for a nearby airbnb, its just at the city. along the beach coastline cause i don’t think we’ll make it if its at the other side of Jeju. Anyway before we check in, we were so so so hungry the last time we had our meal was before we went to the airport that morning so we decided to find food first.
Ofcourse the search was not easy. First its snowing hard, the road was slippery. That was my first time driving in snow. In a big mpv car. Second, due to its snowing hard, most of the restaurants were closed……….
our stomachs were grumping, headaches started to kick in.
Where should we go? Should we just go home and cook ourselves? Should we eat non korean foods? Should we just stop at the neighbourhood bakery?
Alhamdulillah for the list of halal restaurants on the internet, we found one that opens. It was an Arab restaurant called “As-Salam”. The only one shinning brightly in the middle of a dead town, in a dark night. So so happy.

good food, good mood. alhamdulillah
We’ve ordered everything on the menu and endulged everything. It was good. 6/5. Totally recommended! The owner was so kind too I had to wrote them a piece of thank you note on their customer logbook so they can remember a group of hungry malays eating at their restaurant, forever.

The bottom one is my note. “To: In the middle of the night, the most shinning As Salam, thank you for the warm food”
My attempt to impress them with the beauty of Jeju and the beach front surroundings failed cause its pitched black. They said its beautiful. i think theyre being too nice cause i dont see nothing. We only saw the white waves, maybe reflected from the moonlight. Kidding. i think it was the street lamp. Can’t wait for them to see Jeju more and fell in love with it like i do.

jeju at night. the waves were……passionate.
Our Airbnb was not too far. This is by far the best house we’ve stayed in. It was spacious, beautiful, clean, well heated, have tv, have nice warm water, near the beach, everything’s perfect. The owner was soooo so kind. Highly recommended.

Arrived our airbnb and there was nothing left to do but sleep
Hours of waiting had us tired we all fell asleep fast. Our fever got worse.
We slept really well no one wanted to wake up the next day…………….stay tuned for the next day story!
ps: there’s literally noooooo pictures taken that day bcs there was nothing! for that, i’ll add more pictures from before.
