Biking in freezing cold

i woke up to the beep sound from my phone. it was the tour company.

“The snow last night was too thick the driver think you should change the plan to another day”

what……no…..i dont want to change plan bcs first, im a J (mbti), and second, i dont want to disappoint my family who’s already getting ready…”uhhh….but we’ll go to jeju the other day” i replied, not telling them we’re coming back to seoul after it.

“okay, i’ve talked to the driver and the driver said we can continue. there’s no official news yet about the situation. enjoy your trip”

phew. Alhamdulillah. We paid for a one day private driver for our plans today. which was, going to Alpaca world and Nami Island. cause its quite far from seoul and mama and my aunt will never accept an hour train ride.

wuhuuu we’re not going through Seoul stairs today

So, we met our driver. Greeted him. Mr Park~~ he said his name was. Is a very good and patient guy i must say. but his driving was not so good.

In korean, he said “im quite worried driving up to the alpaca world cause its going up the mountain the road must be slippery can we go somewhere else?”

huh? i was confused….you said it was okay……but i had no choice to just say…”hmmm….okay instead we’ll go to the gamchon railbike” confidently. BCS ive heard good reviews about it and malaysians love it. and, its near to nami island. why not? its gonna be fun, right?

 -i. was. wrong.

my cousin wanted to see alpaca so much he was sad haha.

going there and i was looking at streets, it does not look slippery at all! 심지어, even, the day was sunny! whats with all the worry?! i cant express it outloud bcs we’re already on our way to the railbike thingy.

it was negative smth degree, we had to ride a bike, a roofless! bike, AND we had to cycle it ourselves. in the cold. we were FREEZING to death. the view was to be fair, beautiful but we dont have the mood to see it. we were out in the cold. “Is this a punishment?” my sister asked. I laughed so much. maybe it was.

There’s 4 tunnels, and one of them was a bubble tunnel. WHICH have zero bubble blown! just a sound of bubble popping from their speaker. Another tunnel, which was supposed to be a music tunnel, played a creepy christmas song. its like going into a hunted house zzz Its just, a horrible experience. The ride was 45 mins long. 45 minutes of suffer morning exercise. Maybe you guys can come during other seasons but totally not recommending going in winter. (actually, just dont go anywhere in winter) (unless you want to experience snow and don't mind getting hurt)

The view from the bike. You can see how open the bike from the bike infront

pretending to look okay

it was beautiful…….but it was cold

our whole body froze.

huh…..we wanted to see the alpaca. this is not even in the itinerary…….

anyway

next to nami island! we were quite excited bcs we can eat and pray and nami is pretty i can confirm that. I brought them to the restaurant i ate the last time, bcs their Jajangmyeon was sooo good i had to eat it again. also, thats the only halal restaurant there anyway. The last time i went here, there was no surau, but its there now. i was happy bcs the surau is soo cantik and kemas, and well heated. the toilet pun ada bidet. so we were all happy. I feel like taking a nap but I always run out of time everytime I was there!

Walking at nami island will never be boring for me cause its sooo beautiful. i dont care if people said its overrated and too touristy. its beautiful. so what. We had fun strolling around the winter sonata land. And actually, we were happy to see malaysians there. There's something about Malaysian's friendliness and kind heart that make me miss home. especially after being in a country full of cold and self-centered people.

The place was big, the big tree pictures that you guys see, is real. Its beautiful. I bet its prettier in other seasons. The lake is especially so serene, so quiet, so beautiful i can live there.

We had hotteok (a fried pancake, with syrup, cinnamon, and seeds). ugh it was the best. im regretting not eating it more. eating it in the cold makes it 100times more delicious. Dont you just love the smell and taste of cinnamon? i'd totally dig a cinnamon smell perfume. My mom doesn't like cinnamon.

eating 호떡 rate: 100/5

The lake was very serene and quiet i love it

attempt to take a folklore like pic. failed.

It was a great turn out. Nami Island really was our saviour from that cold, freezing, tiriing, boring railbike thing memory.

The ride back to Seoul was long bcs of the traffic. Which doesnt concern us at all cause we’re sleeping the whole way.

We stopped at Myeondong, to have dinner at Busan Jib. The food was not that great but its okay alhamdulillah we were full. wanted to go around myeondong but we got an alert that there will be a cold wave coming at 9. we looked at the time, ok, its 7. lets walk until before 9. lol. But nahhh, it was too cold to handle we went straight home. This was the start of our fever.

couldnt leave home without hotpack

ive tried tanghulu. that thing. not recommended. buy real fruits instead.

fever rushing in

Had a rest and ready for our travel to Jeju tomorrow! yay.

Good job that we went there at that specific time bcs Seoul is having its cold wave for few days. And Jeju was warmer than Seoul. Jeju was great……except that we have a veeeery nervous, and panic situationS happened………….stay tuned for the next day story.
